Zwanze Day 2012 Announcement

From Cantillon’s Facebook page:

Zwanze Day 2012 will take place on 1st December 2012.
More than 30 places will join the event.
More info in the coming days.

Check out the story of Zwanze 2011 here. The background of how the different vintages are made is a really interesting read. The big thing to get out of this is that Zwanze is no longer being bottled due to eBay price gouging and as of last year is only available on tap at a few very select locations. In the Northeast we had:

  • Monk’s Café in Philly
  • Spuyten Duyvil in New York
  • Lord Hobo in Boston
  • Novare Res in Maine

This year it looks like they’re adding another 10 or so locations, although I doubt any closer to Upstate, NY. Rest assure, you’ll see my Untappd check-in to one of these spots on December 1st (assuming they go to the same places again). Right now, I’m leaning towards a nice weekend in Portland, with of course some stops at Allagash, Maine Beer Co., Nosh, maybe newcomer Rising Tide, and while I’d LOVE to get out to Ebenezer’s Pub I’m not sure how realistic that would be in a weekend. Naturally no trip to Maine would be complete without first consulting Ruth, The Beer and Cheese Maven herself!

EDIT: Check out the updated bar list and map located here.
