Camping at Little River State Park
— I can’t recommend this park enough. It’s absolutely beautiful, there are plenty of sites that are right on the water, big sites, small sites, travel sites and even a few options for cabins. The bathrooms were beautiful (anyone who has stayed at a campground knows with sketchy showers know this is important). And best of all? It’s a 10 minute drive to Waterbury which means easy access to The Alchemist, Prohibition Pig, Blackback Pub, and Hen of the Wood. Plus there’s a a little gas station/greasy spoon/beverage center right there called Crossroads Beverage Center that had some killer breakfast sandwiches. Much needed after a long night of drinking. Cost was very reasonable at about $20 a night, much cheaper than any of the hotels or bed and breakfasts in the area. For anyone looking to make the trip to Waterbury when it starts to warm up again, I don’t hesitate to suggest staying here.
