“Stout with coffee added” is an understatement. More like “Coffee with stout added”. (Actually, I wouldn’t be totally against that.) Intense coffee aroma on this one from the moment you crack the bottle. Pours a viscous black with a thick deep tan head that sticks around for a while until it it eventually dissipates to a thin light tan ring around the glass. Aroma in the glass is more coffee, possibly the most coffee I’ve ever experienced in a beer. Taste is again intense coffee up front with some roasted malts and a bit of dark chocolate. Bitter without being over the top. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a velvety texture. Thick but not syrupy. Overall this is an outstanding beer and hangs with Founders Breakfast Stout all day long. Looking forward to the other two bottles of this I have.
