Upcoming Events for September 2013

Damn, a week into September and there are still a shit storm of events coming up for the rest of the month. Thankfully other than Night of the Funk and Hill Farmstead I’m staying local for most of the these. Let’s check it out.

Cluster’s Last Stand @ The Ruck | September 12th
A collaboration between Smuttynose and Stone, Cluster’s is a 30 Barrel Short Batch Series release that didn’t see much distribution, especially not in the Capital District. Hit up The Ruck for what may be your only chance to taste this throwback to the OG American IPA along with some other hard to find offerings from both breweries.

Night of the Funk / Belgian Beer Fest @ The Cyclorama | September 13th-14th
Not much to say here other than take a look at the damn beer lineups. They speak for themselves. I volunteered last year and am looking forward to enjoying the fest to its fullest this year.

Hoptember Harvestfest @ Dutchess Hops | September 14th
The first of a couple of beer events in the Hudson Valley this month, this one located at Dutchess Hops, a hop farm in Lagrangeville, NY home to about 4000 hills of about a dozen different variety of hops. Personal favorites Captain Lawrence, Chatham, Crossroads, Peekskill, and Rushing Duck are all participating. Tickets are sold out.

Patriots Day Pig Roast @ The Ruck | September 14th
The Ruck’s yearly pig roast to benefit The Troy Boys & Girls Club.

Zwanze Day | September 14th
Brasserie Cantillon’s worldwide once-a-year event, a simultaneous tapping of this year’s Zwanze held at only 22 locations in the US. Pictures from last year’s Zwanze at Novare Res can be found here.

Jack’s Abby Launch Night @ The Ruck | September 19th
Our friends from Remarkable Liquids are bringing yet another great brewery to the Capital Region: Jack’s Abby. This family specializes in crushing the preconceived notions of what a lager can be time and time again. Keep an eye out for more details on this and other launch events in the Capital Region.

Hudson River Craft Beer Festival @ Riverfront Park| September 21st
Our second beer event in the Hudson Valley region, this one being presented by the folks at Halftime Beverage in Poughkeepsie.

Bottle Release @ Hill Farmstead| September 26th
Flora, Flora – Satsuma Mandarin, Damon, and Double Barrel Damon. A guaranteed shit show. People are flying in from all over the country to pick up these four beers, and I am sure they will be here by Weds to rape and pillage all of Northern Vermont of any of their good beer.

Bacon Fest @ The City Beer Hall | September 28th
Bacon. That is all. I posted the menu last week on the Hipstergram. Check it.

SIPtemberfest @ Mad River Glen| September 28th
Awesome VT craft beer and food and even a special appearance from Tree House!

Barrel Room Collection Release @ Voodoo Brewery | September 28th
Another shit show. This one might even be worse than the HF event. The Grande Negro Voodoo Papi aged in Laird’s Apple Brandy Barrels sounds like Huna on crack. I dig it.

Wild Game Night @ City Beer Hall | September 30th
The City Beer Hall is usually closed on Mondays but they’re opening up to focus on this beer pairing dinner featuring some special beers from Lagunitas. Chef Dimitrios Menagias is extremely excited about this upcoming dinner and it is sure not to be missed!

  1. Hey Fuj. Here is the Beer List for the Lionheart Pub’s next beer social. Stone Brewing Co. In case you are interested. Its Thursday October 10th at 5:00PM.

12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale Belgian Strong Ale ABV. 9%
As with any good epic, herein lies the promise of larger-than-life experiences, heroics, and twists and turns as the adventure unfolds. This bottle-conditioned ale is chapter eleven. Now is the time to enjoy it in a “vertical” tasting side by side with its ten Stone Vertical Epic Ale brethren! Each one unique to its year of release. Each with its own “twist & turn” in the plot line. Each one released one year, one month and one day from the previous year’s edition. This year’s Stone Vertical Epic Ale is the very last one. Yep, this is it. The final chapter. Or as they say on the last slide in some old films: “Fin.” No worries though: this edition is particularly well-suited for prolonging the experience, as it’s as cellarable as any in the series, or more. In this, the final edition, you can expect a perfectly balance *womp* of spices: cinnamon, ginger, allspice, sweet orange peel, clove (only a little!) and rosehips, all in the context of a dark Belgian style abbey-ish beer…but not as sweet. Dry even. Stone style. Thanks for coming on this Epic Stone-style journey with us! You can rest assured there will be new adventures to come…

Ruin Ten IPA Imperial IPA ABV. 10.8%
RUINING PALATES SINCE 2002 n June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it Ratebeer: 100

Stone 17th Anniversary Götterdämmerung IPA Imperial IPA ABV. 9.5%
Our latest anniversary beer, starring an all-German cast of malt and hops, is yet one more glorious example of a Stone IPA brewed outside the box. Our brewers have brought their experiments with German hops to fruition, leaving convention behind to create this hefty IPA entirely with pilsner malts. These provide a superbly crisp mouthfeel, while a unique mix of noble and new-school hop varieties adds layers of bright, bitter flavors. Despite the daunting name, this beer isn’t designed to bring about the end of the world, but it just might destroy some of your preconceived notions of what an IPA can be. Ratebeer: 98

Imperial Russian Stout Imperial Stout ABV. 10.5%
“There’s no question that Stone Imperial Stout is revered among enthusiasts,” states Stone CEO Greg Koch. “I know, because I’m one of ’em and I can hardly wait for it to come out each year!” Some may think that a late Spring release for a special brew of this sort is an odd time for it to come out onto the market. Koch justifies this with the rationalization “What better than a warm time of year to come out with a brew that tastes great as it warms up!” That’s because “ice cold” is certainly not the appropriate way to serve the beer. Nearly without exception, the darker, richer and more alcoholic a brew is, the warmer the serving temperature should be. The Stone Imperial Stout label describes the brew as being “intensely aromatic (notes of anise, black currants, coffee, roastiness and alcohol) and heavy on the palate…expect this mysterious brew to pour like used motor oil and taste even heavier! Serve at 55 degrees.” Ratebeer: 100

Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout Imperial Stout ABV. 13%
From the most unlikely yet intensely imaginative trio that is actor and uber-geek champion Whil Wheaton, alternative news website Fark.com creator Drew Curtisand Stone CEO/Co-founder Greg Koch, comes an imperial stout unlike any ever made. Brewed with rye, wheat malt and pecans and partially aged in Bourbon whiskey barrels, this viscous yet silken brew erupts with an oaky, nutty bouquet and rich flavors of vanilla, toast and bitter chocolate. Enjoy now or cellar this celebration of nth degree passion and geekery applied most gracefully to the craft of brewing

Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA ABV. 8.7%
We re brewers whose substantial mettle and idiomatic approach to brewing allows us to consistently create works of art such as this justifiably self righteous ale. Its bitterness hits our sweet spot. Its blackness lightens our hearts. Its liquid dichotomy pulls it all together in this sublimely sacrosanct ale. Yes, we damn well know our stuff here at Stone, and it would be irresponsible of us not to acknowledge how remarkable this heavenly creation of ours is. Thus the name we are compelled to give it … Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale … serves as a reminder of just how good we are, in both liquid and verbal form. We re certainly not perfect. Too often, we allow our modesty to get the best of us as we re simply not inclined towards senseless braggadocio. When youre good, youre good. And when you do something great, the least you can do is acknowledge it. Others benefit from knowing. In this case, we find that we are compelled to point out how amazing this beer is that we rightly call the Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale. First brewed in 2007 as Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this beer was an instant hit. With us. Other folks with great taste loved it too, but we were focused on how much we liked it, and we felt it was truly sublime. That euphoria didnt last long though, as it was soon replaced with the grim reality that when we sold out of it there wouldnt be any more. For Us. And that was simply unacceptable. So, we are now blessing ourselves, and you the enlightened, with this beer on a full time basis.. Thusly, you may now revel in your own self righteousness as you see fit with this glorious example of ours. You are genuinely welcome, as it is our pleasure. Ratebeer: 100

Ruination IPA Imperial IPA ABV. 7.7%
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words “Stone Ruination IPA” are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this “Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!” Paganism at its best! $7 pint/$5 10oz./$23 growler Ratebeer: 100

Arrogant Bastard Ale American Strong Ale ABV. 7.2%
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. Ratebeer: 99

Double Bastard Ale American Strong Ale ABV. 11.2%
This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists… Ratebeer: 100

Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale American Strong Ale ABV. 7.2%
Arrogant Bastard Aged with oak chips. Ratebeer: 99

Old Guardian Barley Wine ABV. 11.26%
A beautiful bold barley wine. Massive malt and hop notes. Silver Medal winner at the 2000 Great American Beer Festival in the Barley Wine category. Gold Medal winner at the 2002 World Beer Championships in the Barley Wine Category. Look for it in the first quarter of each new year. Can be cellared or enjoyed upon its release. Ratebeer: 99

Old Guardian Oak Smoked Barley Wine ABV. 11.4%
Whether you are writing the correct year by now or not, it’s officially 2013. That means a new Stone Brewing Co. Odd Beer for Odd Years release. The first time around, Old Guardian was “Belgianized”. This year is a oak smoked edition. This beer makes uses of the same smoked malt used in recent collaboration The Perfect Crime. Ratebeer: 97

Stone Pale Ale American Pale Ale ABV. 5.4%
Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness. Ratebeer: 96

Stone IPA India Pale Ale ABV. 6.9%
Look up “hops” in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of Stone IPA! “Dry-hopped” for an extra two weeks, this unique process gives our IPA its bountiful hop aroma and rich hop flavor. A full 70+ IBUs (International Bitterness Units) creates this beer’s crisp and refreshing bitter character. Ratebeer: 100

Cali- Belgique IPA Belgian Style IPA ABV. 6.9%
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA. The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally. Ratebeer: 98

Levitation Ale Amber Ale ABV. 4.4%
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol. Ratebeer: 94

    Smoked Porter Porter ABV. 5.9%
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the “smoke” in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. — Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co. Ratebeer: 99

    Adirondack/Olde Saratoga Brewer’s Reserve – ?% Lake George, NY
A collaboration beer between Adirondack Pub and Brewery and Olde Saratoga Brewing Company. Chocolate Raspberry Imperial Porter.

Ommegang Game Of Thrones #2 Take The Black Imperial Stout- 7% Cooperstown, NY
Night gathers and it’s time to announce the newest beer in the Game of Thrones series. Take the Black Stout is named for the oath taken by those who stand the Night’s Watch at the Wall, defending Westeros against northern threats. Take the Black Stout is a 7% beer, brewed with base, caramel, chocolate and roasted barley malts. Hopping includes Northern Brewer and Columbus; spices are licorice root and star anise. Hue is black with full tan head. Aromas include chocolate, caramel, and earthy hops, light roastiness, a touch of fruitiness. Tastes include chocolate, coffee, rich malts, and balanced roastiness. Clean hop bitterness joins with slight woody character and spiciness; the finish offers sweet malt character leading to spicy, earthy, hop bitterness

Southern Tier Warlock Imperial Pumpkin Stout- 8.6% Lakewood, NY
Imperial stout brewed with pumpkins Warlock is brewed to enchant your palate on its own and also to counterpoint our Imperial Ale, Pumking. Make your own black magic by carefully pouring this Imperial Stout into a goblet.
Dark and mysterious, the Blackwater Series is serious about high gravity. Reanimate your senses with Warlock’s huge roasted malt character, moderate carbonation and spicy pumpkin pie aroma.

Rushing Duck War Elephant Imperial IPA- 8.7% Chester, NY
War Elephant is as unapologetic as Double IPAs get. At over 4lbs. of hops per barrel, War Elephant contains a completely irrational amount of hops designed to create a unique hop experience. It has a “smack-you-in-the-face” hop aroma consisting of pine needles, grapefruit, tangerine, and other citrus fruits. Unlike many other Double IPAs, though, War Elephant has a subdued malt character so it’s never cloyingly sweet, and at 80 IBUs it isn’t overly bitter. Like all Rushing Duck beers, War Elephant is unfiltered so as not to strip any of the precious hop aromas from the beer. As a result it has a hazy golden color with a thick rocky head.

Rushing Duck Planet Funkotron Sour- 5.2% Chester, NY
Brett soured witbier. Planet Funkotron begins with a grain bill reminiscent of Belgian Wit Beer. It is brewed with 40% wheat and has additions of Orange Peel, Coriander, and Grains of Paradise. However, the addition of Brettanomyces gives the beer complex notes of pear and tropical fruit with a slight tartness. As the beer ages the Brett will continue to mature the beer to develop even more fruity flavors as well as a spicy, earthy, funkiness.

Nine Pin Cider Works Hard Cider- 6.7% Albany, NY
Our local cider! It is produced with a white wine yeast, and only apples grown exclusively at 3 orchards surrounding the capital region. This semi dry cider is sparkling and refreshing. Be revolutionary, consider the apple!

Captain Lawrence Golden Delicious-10% Elmsford, NY
Batch 1 (2008) and Batch 2 (2010) of Captain Lawrence’s Extra Gold aged in apple brandy barrels. There’s nothing quite likes Mom’s apple pie…But I am willing to bet this beer is pretty darn close. An American Tripel, dry-hoped with Amarillo hops and aged in Apple Brandy barrels from one of this country’s oldest distilleries. The tropical aroma of the hops and the delicate apple aroma from the barrels are a perfect match.

Captain Lawrence Xtra Gold Abbey Tripel -10% Elmsford, NY
This beer is an American adaptation to the classic Belgian style of beer known as a Tripel. Historically Tripels were brewed to have a very light golden color, a moderate hop presence, and be around 9% alcohol. But we are not in Belgium, so I decided to crank up the hops, dry hop the beer with American Amarillo hops, and brew it to 10% ABV. This is our American Tripel, enjoy. Sensory Profile: Enjoy in a goblet or wine glass. Tropical fruit and honey are the two biggest aromas coming from this lively brew. While the hop bitterness is not as powerful as an IPA, the hop flavor melds nicely with the fruity flavors created by the imported Belgian yeast strain used
He’Brew Rejewvenator Abbey Dubbel/Doppelbock-8% Clifton Park, NY
How better to celebrate the evolution of the year than with recipes inspired by generations of the original craft beer warriors, the Monks! Top with a healthy dose of Shmaltz and witness the rebirth of Rejewvenator! “The winter of bondage has passed, the deluge of suffering is gone, the Fig tree has formed its first fruits, declaring all ready for libation.” -Song of Solomon. Dates were used to sweeten beer in Ancient Egypt as early as 3500 BCE. Genesis 3:7: “Their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked; they sewed fig leaves and made themselves aprons.” Queen Vic commissioned an 18″ plaster fig leaf for her cast of Michelangelo’s David. “The statue that advertises its modesty with a fig leaf brings its modesty under suspicion.” -Mark Twain. Under a fig tree, Romulus and Remus, mythical founders of Rome, were nursed by a she-wolf and worlds away Buddha found enlightenment. Zechariah: “Nations shall beat their swords into plowshares – all will sit with their neighbor under a fig tree, never afraid.” Mohammed: “Whoever eats seven Tamr (dates) at breakfast shall rise above magic and poison that day.” The Hebrew word for Date palm “Tamar” connotes a woman’s grace. “The only difference between a first date and a job interview is not many job interviews have a chance you’ll end up naked.” Jerry Seinfeld. Psalm 92:12: “The righteous shall flourish like the Date palm.” Thankfully all we need to do is pop open a bottle and rejoice… L’Chaim!

He’Brew Jewbelation Reborn-17% Clifton Park, NY
How could we hope to top last year’s Jewbelation Sweet 16 with its cupcakes, unicorns, & Satan’s Ferrari birthday cake? massive challenge. So for Year 17, we threw in a whole new dimension to our shtick – we built our very own brewery! Knowledge and growth come in many forms. It is taught that Nirvana is only attained when the soul transcends cycles of rebirth. Looks like Shmaftz just isn’t there yet. So with 17 malts, 17 hops, and 17% abv,JEWBEL4TIONREBORNserves as another mark of our death as a contract brewer and proof of our conversion to a new life as brewery owner…… L’Chaim!!!
    Horseheads Chocolate Porter-7% Horseheads, NY
This style of beer is classified in the “American Porter” category. The focus is obviously on the very dark roasted malts used in the brewing process to impart a “chocolaty flavor”.This is our Valentine’s Special.
Horseheads Orion Dark Belgian-Style IPA-6.9% Horseheads, NY
The beer formally known as “Nebula”, is a Belgian-Style dark IPA. The focus is not only on the yeast used during the brewing process, but also on the hops and dark grains. The yeast imparts a fruity and spicy flavor/aroma to the beer, followed by a sharp bite from the hops, then late in the finish you enjoy the flavor of the dark grains. Our version has no added fruit or spice.
Crossroads Black Rock Stout-7.3% Athens, NY
Black Rock Stout is a dark and robust, full bodied foreign style stout that bursts with flavor. Roasted barley and chocolate malt combine with sweet and fruity fermentation flavors to create the rich body of this full flavored brew. American hops help balance out the robust malt flavor and the high alcohol content adds a touch of sweetness and warming sensation on the palate. This ale is not for the faint of heart.

Ommegang Rare Vos- 6.5% Cooperstown, NY
Rare Vos Amber Ale is styled after the smooth, drinkable beers popular in Belgian cafés. It pours a light copper hue, contrasting beautifully with a big, creamy white head. The nose offers orange blossoms and slight spice. On the palate, the caramel maltiness shines strongly but with little sweetness. The profile leans toward dry fruity (yeast-affiliated), slightly fruity/hoppy with a beguiling spiciness. This complex, medium-bodied beer has a smooth mid-palate and moderate dry finish. Well-balanced in all elements, it’s a mild, mellow and highly quaffable brew.

    Keegan’s Mother’s Milk- 6% Kingston, NY
As the name implies, Mother’s Milk is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course, milk make this brew have a remarkably smooth and silky finish, a classic example of the style.

Southern Tier IPA- 7.3% Lakewood, NY
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and Southern Tier’s is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India drank a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one Southern Tier is proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience. Enjoy.

Crossroads Outrage IPA- 7% Athens, NY
Outrage is an Indian Pale Ale featuring the robust and assertive flavors of American hops balanced by a sweet malt body and high alcohol content. Crossroads uses the highest quality English malts to create a bright copper color and smooth rich body for this ale. However, hops are the real feature of Outrage IPA. Simcoe, Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo, and Citra hops are added throughout the brewing process to yield an assertive grapefruit-like bitterness. Look for huge flavor and aroma from Outrage with a noticeable kick.

Lake Placid UBU- 7% Lake Placid, NY
Lake Placid’s famous English Strong Ale, deep garnet red in color, with a smooth, hardy taste and a nice warm feeling to follow.

Bluepoint Blueberry- 4.3% Long Island, NY
Blue Point fresh Blueberry Ale offers an unusual twist on brewing that turns out to be just perfect. A wonderful blend of fresh blueberries matched with a thirst quenching distinctive ale. Bluepoint Brewing Company carefully add 132 lbs of blueberries to each special batch. Brewed with 100% American ingredients. Enjoy a truly unique flavorful brew!

    Brooklyn Lager- 5.2% Brooklyn, NY
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery’s flagship label, is New York’s “hometown” beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: “The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since.”.

Ithaca Cascazilla Red Ale-7% Ithaca, NY
The name CascaZilla is a play on both the name of our local Cascadilla Gorge and the monster amounts of Cascade hops in this beer. This red ale gets its distinctive color from a healthy portion of caramel malt, which also lends some body and sweetness to the beer. The predominant flavor and aromoa of this beer, however, is brought to you by the fresh American hops. If you haven’t done so yet, treat yourself to Ithaca Beer’s new monstrously hoppy Red Ale.
C.H. Evans Brewing Company at Albany Pumpstation Kick Ass Brown- 5% Albany, NY
This beer from Albany’s hometown brewpub shows why they are a premier location for quality hand crafted beer. Awarded Gold medals as the best brown ale in America at the 2000 and 2002 Great American Beer Festival! This copper-brown brew has a strong hop presence and firm, malty backbone. Generous amounts of Horizon, Amarillo and Crystal hops are balanced by rich German Munich malt and just a touch of roasted malt

Brown’s Brewing Company Black Lager- 5% Troy, NY
Brown’s tribute to the German Schwarzbier (Black Beer) style. Very dark brown in color with underlying roasted malt and chocolate notes with a subtle hop character. Despite its dark appearance, Brown’s Black Lager is deceptively very clean, light bodied and easy drinking. As a lager, this beer is very crisp, smooth and refreshing, yet it maintains a pleasantly balanced malt character and at 5.0% abv a nice sessionable lager to fit everyone’s taste.

Rushing Duck Naysayer Pale Ale- 5.2% Chester, NY
Naysayer Pale Ale is a west coast styled pale ale that has a more hoppy character than most IPA’s. It has a modest ABV, medium-light body and 33 IBUs which helps it maintain the drinkability of a great pale ale.

Rushing Duck Bauli Saison- 6% Chester, NY
A new take on an old style. Saison’s originated in the South of Belgium and are famous for the distinctive fruity, spicy notes given off from the yeast. They also tend to be lighter, effervescent, and quenching. Bauli Saison is all of that, but adds a unique twist. We’ve added White Peppercorns, Coriander, and Kaffir Lime Leaves to the beer to enhance the spice flavors naturally produced by the yeast as well as adding a distinct citrus flavor to make it a lighter beer on the palate but still providing tons of flavor.

Rushing Duck Beanhead Coffee Porter- 5.7% Chester, NY
Beanhead takes the base beer of a robust porter and pairs is with a fantastic coffee flavor that comes from a Guatemalan bean roasted by Java Love Coffee Roasting Co. in Kauneonga Lake, NY. Beanhead is completely black in color with an impressive tan head. It has a taste of intense coffee with overtones of bittersweet cocoa and caramel malt balanced with a slight earthy bitterness. While it may look filling, Beanhead is actually medium bodied and lacks the cloying sweetness that makes so many other stouts and porters seem so “heavy.”

Olde Saratoga Premium Lager- 5.7% Saratoga Springs, NY
Olde Saratoga Premium Lager is a smooth, medium-bodied lager with a pale copper color and a rich aroma. German hops and imported Munich malt impart an intriguing balance between light, soft bitterness and a refreshing sweetness. Hand-crafted with an “old world” attention to detail, Olde Saratoga Premium Lager is a sure bet every time.
    On Cask

Olde Saratoga IPA- 7% Saratoga Springs, NY This is a handcrafted, traditional “West Coast” IPA with a perfect balance of malt blended with Cascade and Fuggles hops. We hope you will enjoy this full bodied, nicely hopped India Pale Ale fresh hopped with New York State hops.
