Dark Horse Beefsteak Dinner at McGreivey’s 2015 | Waterford, NY

Filet Mignon

Last week marked the second annual Dark Horse Beefsteak Dinner at McGreivey’s. This laid back beer dinner hasn’t changed much from last year’s event, which is a good thing. The seat price is an absolute steal considering the amount of food, including all you can eat filet, and beer is served at the event. I didn’t have as much freedom to move around to take as many pictures like I did last year so make sure you check out that post with a little more in depth commentary as well.

Our hosts Chef Art Riley and Jared Kingsley of Remarkable Liquids kept things running smoothly and the crowd entertained for the evening.

As usual apps were served in the bar area along with pints of Scotty Karate to help loosen things up. After being seated we were immediately greeted with cups of french onion soup with Boffo Brown Ale followed by Arugula & Endive Salad paired with Crooked Tree IPA.

The main event: all you can eat filet mignon. Mounds of the tenderloin were served with twice baked potatoes and grilled veggies, with bernaise and bordelaise sauces on the side.

Just when you think you couldn’t fit in another bite, Art goes and hits you with a Whiskey Roll paired with Too Cream Stout.

Overall this was just another fun event at McGreivey’s with a ton of great food and beer for an incredible value. Big thanks to Jared from Remarkable Liquids who kept the tunes and the stories going while Art and his team for executing yet another wonder Beefsteak. Next beer dinner should be when it warms up and on the back patio. Sound good, Art?
